Start-up VerbaLearn.com Passes 1 Million Vocabulary Words Learned

VerbaLearn has reached its 1,000,000th word.  The popular online service for building vocabulary has taught a total of over one million words to its 25,000 users.

Co-founder James Potter explained how the free e-learning service has proven a success with its novel approach to vocabulary. “Users work with small groups of words, cycling between learning words and testing themselves to refresh the word set. Users learn words faster and remember them longer with our automated method.” Additional features available to premium members, such as personalized downloadable MP3s, have provided an additional boost to some users who are auditory learners or are always on the go.

As a show of support for the success VerbaLearn’s users have achieved, the site offered an iPad/iPod prize to whoever learned the one millionth word. The lucky winner was Karen H. when she learned “perdition”. The milestone was reached only fifteen months after VerbaLearn.com was released from Beta. “We were proud to have made such a positive impact on so many people in such a short period of time,” remarked Potter.

VerbaLearn also offers programs for schools and public libraries, as well as audio CDs. For business development opportunities, contact James Potter: james@verbalearn.com.
